Hundreds Turn Out For Opening Of Harley-Davidson Museum

The new Harley-Davidson museum roared to life aand hundreds of people came to celebrate the grand opening. The museum was built to celebrate Harley-Davidsons 105-year history.

“We’ve been all excited to have this day come and it’s finally here,” Amanda Lee said. The museum has about 200 motorcycles and other historical items which have been part of the Davidson family for so long.

“Inside is a treasure chest. If you like Harleys you’re going to go absolutely nuts,”

Harley-Davidson founder’s grandson Willie Davidson said. “It’s for riders, anybody interested in our brand. It belongs in Milwaukee. It’s here and we’re just thrilled.”

City leaders said the museum will do much more than just entertain. They said it will boost the area’s economy and put Milwaukee on the map.

“That’s what this city is all about, rejuvenating itself, being part of the renaissance and leading the charge is Harley-Davidson,” Mayor Tom Barrett said.Museum leaders said they expect more than 300,000 visitors a year from all over the world.
