Harley Davidson Motorcycle Parts

Whether you have a 10 year old hog or you have just bought a new hog, at one point or another, you are going to need some Harley Davidson Motorcycle Parts

Maybe you just want to spice up your motor with a stronger cylinder base to give your bike stronger push. When you ride to live, across country especially, you're going to need a spare of crucial Harley Davidson motorcycle parts at one point or another. Consider putting an extra solenoid and starter motor in case you find yourself in the middle of a desert unable to start your hog after a rest stop.

An ignition piece might also be a good idea. Before you depart for your trip to the biker's rally across the other side of the country, tune up and clean your Harley Davidson motorcycle parts for optimal performance as you ride. The last thing you want is to be stuck in the middle of nowhere after your bike breaks down. Unfortunately, there have been some bikers who found themselves a hundred miles from the nearest town and unable to fix their bikes because they forgot to stock up their saddle bags with spare Harley Davidson motorcycle parts.

If your bike is a 1999 model or earlier, you are going to want the snap-on compact tool kit. It is a universal tool set that will perform virtually any function with a small amount of tools and the fact that it is light weight is superb. If your bike was made in the 2000s, Harley Davidson provides you with small compact tool sets, with a lifetime warranty, that will give you the ability to do-it-yourself when it comes to your Harley Davidson motorcycle parts.

If you are like most bikers, you don't want anyone messing around your bike. Even if you have some spare Harley Davidson Motorcycle Parts , if you love your hog, you want to give that baby a nice spruce up with some quality design chrome accessories that will show the world how much your love your bike. Besides, your bike will treat you as good as you treat it.

Putting the Perfect Detail on Your Motorcycle

There's nothing as exhilarating as taking off on your new Harley Davidson. If you made the decision to buy a Harley Davidson, you've probably spent a lot of time researching the motorcycle, selecting the best model, and even getting trained on how to ride the bike. What you may not have given a lot of thought about is Harley Davidson motorcycle parts and accessories.

The right accessories can enhance your riding and driving experience when on your motorcycle. And, without the right accessories, you may not be as safe as you could be – or as comfortable. What should you consider when it comes to Harley-Davidson motorcycle parts and accessories? Let's take a look at some of the popular items:

Some people focus on the “look” of the Harley rider. For them, it's all about the leather. You certainly can buy the leather pants and leather jacket, but from a practical side, that might not be the best fit for you. So what other options should you consider for motorcycle friendly clothing?

The Jacket – Leather jackets may look cool, but they definitely aren't cool when driving in hot weather. However, there are some great motorcycle jackets that provide warmth when necessary, but are still lightweight. These jackets are durable in light weight ultra-suede with lining that provides warmth. They are comfortable to wear for long rides and provide protection.

The Right Socks – Don't believe socks can make a difference to your ride? That's because you've never tried these socks. Compression socks are designed for motorcycle riders. These socks keep you blood circulating freely, while wicking away moisture from your boots and feet. You can even find these socks that fit over the knee, with articulated joints that allow your legs to move freely.

The Right Headgear – Sure you know that wearing a helmet will keep you safe, but there are other motorcycle accessories to consider wearing under the helmet. One example is a Balaclava. This head gear keeps your head warm under the helmet without seams rubbing against the scalp.

Boot Straps – There's a lot of air flowing while you ride. Keep your pant legs firm against your boot with a pair of clips. There are some great designs for boot straps that attach to an elastic band. This band slips under your boot arch and keeps your pant legs straight.

Sometimes your bike needs a few accessories to make it road worthy. Some great examples include:

Motorcycle windshield – Your windshield provides vital protection, but can take a real beating on the road. If you need to replace your windshield, check stock replacement windshield. You'll get a motorcycle windshield that fits perfectly for your model, keeps you safe, and is scratch resistant.

How about something just for fun? One of the easiest installations is to add a motorcycle flag mount. There are several different types of flag mounts. With these flag mounts you can fly your favorite colors or a patriotic flag.

Look for the right accessories to make your motorcycle experience even more enjoyable. You'll be the king or queen of the road.

Harley-Davidson will donate $5 to Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) for each woman who completes the scavenger hunt.

During Women’s Day, the Motor Company will offer special seminars focused on teaching women how to customize their motorcycle for fit, function and style; healthy eating tips while out on the road; and best practices for conducting a pre-ride safety check.

Loss of right of way in Maryland fines and penalty increase

September 26th, 2008 • RelatedFiled Under
Filed Under: Motorcycle News

Drivers failing to give the right of way in Maryland used to have a $150 fine imposed on them but now after a string of motorcycle deaths, the fine has been increased to try and discourage drivers from causing more accidents.

An SHA statement says drivers who fail to yield the right of way and cause a serious crash could pay $1,000 in fines and have their license suspended. The previous penalty was $150 for failing to yield the right of way and there was no specific penalty for causing injury or death.

Maybe now with the new fine and supension, people may take more time when they are changing lanes or driving in general to make sure that their path is clear when their license is at risk.  But no matter where you are driving or the penalty, you should always be on the lookout for a fellow biker.

Five seat Harley-Davidson motorcycle unveiled for the 105th Anniversary

Four Engine Bike

Four Engine Bike

You have to check out this video about a very odd motorcycle, a five seat and four engine custom built Harley-Davidson. While there have been stretch motorcycles before, there have not been too many motorcycles built with 4 motorcycle engines.

If you watch the video, you will see a very clean looking design where the four motors still have their own exhaust and seats for each of the riders. This bike actually takes two people to start it becuase it uses kick start engines and the kicker is on the rear motor. The front rider has to clutch and gas the engines while the rear biker kick starts the engine.

This motorcycle will certainly turn heads as it parades through Milwakee for the 105th anniversary.

So check out this great video clip of a unique motorycle and some of the other inventions that the biker has made.

Maryland bikers soon to have smaller license plates

If you have ever had to register your motorcycle in Maryland, you probally have had to make modifications to your license plate cover or remove it. Maryland’s motorcycle license plates are bigger than most other states and do not fit in the normal size ones sold with motorcycles. Maryland bikers were forced to buy special size holders or figure out unique ways to mount them legally.

But that is about to change after a law goes in effect October 1st reducing the size of the plates to what other states use. While this does not mean that all bikers will have to replace their current plates, it does mean that new bikes will not have to purchase special holders anymore. This also may mena alot of current bikers may try to get the new plates so they can finally get the license plate holder they always wanted.

An unintended benefit of course is to the aftermarket manufacturers that will be able to stop selling the larger size holder and just be able to sell the smaller size . As stores clear out their old stock in favor of the new size, bikers who want the larger plates and holders may find some really good deals.

Lowest of lows, stealing a biker’s bike while he lays dying next to it

We have all heard of some pretty low things in life but I have to say that this really competes for being one of the worst things that can happen to a biker.

Scott Henry had just crashed his motorcycle and was laying next to it when reportedly a truck stopped at the accident. A man got out of the truck and picked up the motorcycle and rode off on the bike. Scott later died at a local hospital from his injuries. Police are currently investigating the accident and theft.

Just imagine laying on the road, knowing that you need help and someone stops, only to “save” your bike and not even check on you. While we do not know if the people that stopped could have helped this downed biker, it makes you wonder still how some people can be so heartless.
